It's time to open a thread dealing specifically with 2011 Italian EGP step. This year, the event will be hosted in Rome!
It's the first time (as long as I recall given my short "diplomatic career"...) for an international Diplomacy event to take place in the Eternal City, and we (the whole Italian Hobby) are ready for it. Our hope is to host a lot of you foreign players - our organization will do a great part, the City will do the rest!

Let's begin: the event is called "III Legatio in Urbe", and it's the third (of four) tournament forming 2011 CISD (Campionato Italo-Sammarinese di Diplomacy, our national circuit).

First of all: DATE!
Sat 10 Sept 2011, Sun 11 Sept 2011.

Then: PLACE!
Vatican School Pio IX, Via dei Cavalieri del Santo Sepolcro, 1 - Just in front of St.Peter's Church! (yes, we can!)

There's a .doc attached, with the complete program & scoring system.

Sat 10 Sept:
10.00: Arrival, registration
10.30: First game
14.00: Lunch
15.15: Registration for the second game
15.30: Second game
Dinner following.

Sun 11 Sept:
9.30: Registration
10.00: Third Game
13.30: Awards
Lunch following.

Top table with 4 or more boards.
Scoring System: Italia 2011, see the Doc attached.

ACCOMODATION!
We 've contacted some hotels near the gameplace (10 mins walking in the very center of the city) and found a good agreement (B&B "The Right Place"). To book, feel free to refer to us. Anyway, just to take a look, here are the hotels' websites:

http://www.hoteldeiquiriti.com/
http://www.hotelgiuggioli.it/

and a friend B&B, linked by tramways to the gameplace:

Some hint about holydays planning: If you plan to take some days free to visit Rome, it's best to book for the week before the tournament: after Sept 11th, in fact, the hotels will re-enter in high season period, almost doubling the rooms' costs.

If you love to look for hotels for yourself  be sure to choose an accomodation in the following sectors/quarters:
Vatican,
Prati,
St.Peter (San Pietro).

OR, since the Vatican City is best served by underground line 'A' (metro station Ottaviano), look for accomodation near 'A' metro stations.

Here up on the right there's a link to all the bookable Tournaments, if you want you can book for yourself (you'll need to register to the forum).

Of course, feel free to contact us for ANYTHING you need assistance for/info about.

The registration fee is 5 EUR.
